CSR

Document CSR policies/initiatives of companies, with respect to sectors, scale of commitment and involvement, activities and their impact, and whatever more can be done in sectors that are either not covered or under-represented

Development

Aspects that help people build a better life – hence, the focus on social and economic development goals; poverty issues and poverty eradication; livelihoods; public health; education; agriculture; energy; natural resources including land and water; women’s empowerment; social justice; effective and accountable governance and citizen participation

Environment

All aspects related to biodiversity, conservation, resources, climate, waste management, habitat and urbanization, natural-disaster management, pollution, and wildlife

Humanitarian affairs

Issues of displacement of people due to manmade or natural calamities/relief and resettlement/aids and grants/protection of civilians during armed conflict; peace building; food security; development programmes for the poverty-stricken; life and livelihood issues in Third World countries; helping humanity, particularly the disadvantaged lot, to realize their full potential/facilitating intellectual and emotional development

Labour

Sector-specific issues; gender-specific issues; labour empowerment and welfare; labour disputes; legislation; trade unions; aspects of migration; child labour; globalization perspective; issues specific to organized and unorganized sectors

Philanthropy

The evolution of the idea and practice of ‘giving’ in India; trends in corporate as well as individual philanthropy; focus of philanthropic giving

Governance

Policies, processes and decision making in the public sphere, with particular impact on the societal, cultural, economic and environmental aspects; present critiques of policies both in terms of content and execution; present a better understanding of institutions and their interaction with civil society

Cause bridge

An interaction platform wherein all stakeholders can post their needs/intent to interact/associate with like-minded individuals or active organizations working in a similar space. Cause bridge will primarily help in introducing an NGO/VO, working towards a particular cause, to a corporate house, and vice versa. Additionally, individuals can effectively express their opinions, ideas and suggestions, in the hope that the common and greater good will eventually be achieved.
