Products manufactured by the NGOs are gaining popularity as
people consider it to be an indirect way of charity and helping NGOs raise
funds. Cashing in on the trend, eBay India has launched a new category for
increased visibility for NGO products.
The category aims at offering Indian
NGOs a platform to raise funds by retailing their products to a national and
global audience of online shoppers.
Over 40 NGOs including CRY, Save the Children, and Women’s
India Trust, are registered with eBay India’s charity platform.
Since the inception of the programme, the eBay community has
raised over two crore rupees for charity through the sale of NGO products,
online donations and participation in high profile charity like auctioning Yuvraj Singh’s bat, participation in Sachin’s coaching camp or spending a day with Priyanka
Chopra.
