CB BureauThe company has launched its second construction and demolition (C&D) recycling facility under a public-private partnership model with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). Located in Hyderabad at Fathullaguda, Hayathnagar, this facility uses wet processing technology to minimise dust pollution and is being claimed to be the first of its kind. Apparently the plant can process up to 500 TPD of C&D waste.
Goutham Reddy, MD & CEO, Ramky Enviro Engineers Limited (REEL), says: ‘Rapid urbanisation coupled with the unprecedented growth of cities and towns in the last two decades led to the generation of a lot of C&D waste. It is a challenging task to manage C&D waste. The waste material generated during the construction, renovation and demolition of buildings, roads and bridges is complex. We have used an innovative wet process technology to manage the pollution. Our project is capable of recycling more than 95% of the incoming debris.’
A toll-free number – 18001201159 – will facilitate pick and drop of C&D waste, which will then be managed by GHMC. The plant will process the waste with a specialised segregation system, a debris-handling system, multiple screening systems, material washing, sand washing, and a water-management system. The recycled products generated from the waste will be utilised for non-structural purposes such as footpaths and road sub-base, etc.
Ramky Enviro’s first C&D recycling facility was also in partnership with GHMC and was launched last year in Hyderabad.
