The second edition of this CSR initiative by Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) – the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) – is looking to support 25 artists and 10 art collectives with a total grant of Rs 40 lakh.
In the first edition launched in 2021, 25 artists were selected from among a total of of 163 entries. These artists received a grant of Rs 1 lakh each.
Puneet Anand, AVP & Group Head – Corporate Affairs, HMIL, informs that the initiative is aligned with the company’s global brand vision ‘Progress for Humanity’ and is helping create livelihood opportunities for the underserved across sectors. ‘Art for Hope’ aims to unearth hidden talent in the fields of visual art, digital art, performance art, and traditional arts and crafts.
The shortlisted artists will get an opportunity to cross-collaborate with other artists, be mentored by industry experts, and receive training in financial management, communication, etc. The projects will be displayed for community viewing in prominent art spaces in North and South India.
The jury for the second edition comprises of Aditya Arya, founder of Museo Camera, Centre of Photographic Arts (Gurugram), Jagannath Panda, a visual artist and curator and founder of Utsha Foundation for Contemporary Art (Bhubaneshwar), and Dr Rathi Jafer, Director of InKo Centre (Chennai).
