As part of their health and wellness initiatives, DLF
Foundation has inaugurated two wellness centres at DLF City Phase 1 and Phase 2
in Gurgaon, Haryana. Being run on rooftop solar panels, the centres are designed
to be environment-friendly and sustainable for years to come. The centres will
be managed by ICICI Lombard and is open to general public. These will also provide
free consultation services.

The centres were inaugurated by Rohit Malik, director, DLF
Estates Developers Ltd (DEDL), along with Sudhir Kapoor, secretary general, DLF
City RWA. Lt General Rajender Singh, CEO, DLF Foundation; Ritesh Sinha, associate
director, DLF Foundation; PK Joseph, associate director, DLF Foundation; and Jaideep
Goel, vice president, ICICI Lombard, were among those who participated in the
inauguration.

The wellness centres, staffed with experienced gynaecologists
and physicians, aim to serve a huge number of maids, domestic helpers and
construction labourers working in and around DLF City. These are also expected to benefit
about 25,000 people living in the nearby villages including Chakarpur and Nathupur.

The maternal care programme includes antenatal checkups,
postnatal checkups and counselling sessions on maternal anaemia as well as
diet plans for pregnant women. The centres are equipped with 35 basic lab tests.

‘This project is a part of the Urban Underprivileged
Development Program whereby we are trying to work on issues related to heath,
education, sanitation, drinking water and cleanliness. We have introduced these
first wellness centres in DLF City and plan to cover the entire city of Gurgaon
including the surrounding villages,’ Ritesh Sinha of DLF Foundation informed.
