When a celebrity endorses a cause, it often gets a much-needed thrust in the form of media mileage. While John Abraham is yet to conceptualize and begin work on a campaign to conserve the one-horned rhinos of Assam, a section of the mainstream media has already carried enough news stories to propagate the yet-to-formalize idea that is perhaps in the back of the actor’s mind.

‘I am seriously looking at projects to help save rhinos in Assam. It is in the back of my mind. From January I will start a CSR activity and campaign for rhinos,’ said John Abraham while addressing the media on the sidelines of India Super League (ISL). The actor is co-owner of ISL franchise NorthEast United FC and is currently busy with the ongoing league.

While the actor did not share any details of the proposed campaign, he hinted that it would be along the lines of the ‘Save the Tiger’ project, with focus on protecting animals from poachers or any other threat.

‘I am an animal activist. I am involved in the “Save the Tiger” project. I am also doing a documentary on tigers. So I am very much interested in doing something for the rhinos and I will surely take it up,’ Abraham had said.
