In January, the Zila Parishad School in Ghotsai village, Thane district, was given infrastructural support by Future Generali India Insurance (FGII). In partnership with the NGO Habitat for Humanity, the company has built sanitation facilities and installed a water-filtration unit for the 289 students. It also contributed towards the construction of a terrace and donated computers for the school computer lab.
A senior leader from the company along with 22 employee volunteers were present at the inauguration. The volunteers organised a behavioural-change awareness workshop to help children understand the importance of proper utilisation of sanitation facilities and the benefits of hygienic practices. They made awareness posters with the children, played games with them, and distributed hand sanitisers.
The company did not reply to CB’s questions on the details of this project, including duration and frequency of such engagements.
