A campaign to create awareness and raise funds for underprivileged children in 77 districts across 22 Indian states was recently launched by Magic Bus Foundation in partnership with ImpactGuru.com, a crowdfunding platform for NGOs/ nonprofits, medical or personal causes. As part of this, a celebrity match was organised featuring Bollywood celebrities from the All-Star Football Club (ASFC), including stars like Abhishek Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor.
#GivingGoals aims to raise INR 60 lakh to help 2,000 underprivileged children to complete their secondary education, avoid child marriage, and learn the skill sets required for professional jobs. The funds generated will support Magic Bus’s ‘Childhood to Livelihood’ programme.
According to an official spokesperson’s statement to CauseBecause, three key indicators will be used to measure the programme’s success – namely education attainment, livelihood attainment, and age at marriage.
To encourage donations, fans were offered the chance to join the celebrities by raising funds through www.impactguru.com/givinggoals. While many of the celebrities took to social media to extend their support, there was no indication that they personally contributed monetarily to this cause.
