Mumbai-based abstract artist Krupa Shah has joined hands with Jan Seva Foundation to host an open online art competition, called #RayOfHope, against the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic. Amateur and professional artists of all age groups from India and around the world are being called upon to showcase their art, which needs to based on the theme ‘showcasing positivity in the time of crisis’. The objective of the virtual art competition is to engage people in productive activity, promote their art, reward the finalists, and raise funds to help tackle the pandemic.

The top 50 paintings will be provisionally shortlisted, and amongst those, the 3 best artworks will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000, respectively. Each of the 50 paintings will be auctioned online and 100 per cent of proceeds will be contributed to the PM CARES Fund.  

The competition will conclude on 11 April 2020 and the results will be announced on 12th April. Participants need to send in their artworks to [email protected].
